Levinia was founded in 2015 by former Aerius drummer, Dylan Suierveld. After Aerius' mutual disbandment, Dylan and his former Aerius guitarist, John Pinon decided to take a break from the Los Angeles Power Metal scene, and start a new melodic metal project, originally entitled Lavinium. John and Dylan brought on Opera Vocalist, Kourt Henson, as their vocalist, in order to produce a more “Symphonic and Classical” sound. After spending a few months recording and releasing their demo EP, Alluring Fear, the band was itching to evolve their sound. They immediately jumped into writing for their debut EP, Liberation. The band worked with producer Charles “Kallaghan” Massabo, to help modernize their music. They brought on bassist Casey Artus, changed their name to Levinia, and hit the ground running with recording Liberation. The EP dropped on Halloween, 2018.

However, Levinia wasn’t satisfied. They continued to write and record new music. With the departures of Artus and founding member Pinon, the band took a hiatus to figure out their next steps. Kourt and Dylan brought on Lead Guitarist, Alon Mei-Tal to evolve and enhance Levinia’s sound. Mei-Tal has brought a unique feel to the music, allowing the band to go back to their roots. The band also welcomed their new bassist and backing vocalist, Arron Suljay, creating their current line-up. The band’s goal is to create music that embodies sounds, made popular  within the metal genres that are prominent within Europe and American metal scenes. They want to combine the two genres, creating a sound that is unique and powerful. Levinia is currently completing their sophomore EP, with Grammy award-nominated producer, Brandon Friesen.
